Caroline Fleming

Assistant Account Coordinator, Special Events

Hometown: Natick, MA
Years at Conventures: 1.5

Young CarolineWhen did you start working here? And B.C. (Before Conventures) — work, school?
I started as an intern at Conventures in September 2024, and became full time in November. I graduated from Boston College with a degree in Communications in 2024, and ran track and cross country throughout my four years. Coinciding with my passion for running, I was able to volunteer with the Special Olympics, the B.A.A., local road races, and as an assistant track coach to little kids. Throughout college, I also worked for the Heartbreak Hill Running Company and waitressed.

What piece of advice would you give someone just starting out in events? Anything you wish you’d known?
Always remember “the why” of an event. Every event has a goal and purpose, and remembering that makes the process enjoyable and fulfilling.

At Conventures, we have such a supportive team that always has each other’s backs. It’s easier to work on a project when you know everyone will perfect their role to create a really great event.

Proudest moment working at Conventures?
My proudest moment was recruiting the elite athletes for the Boston 10K for Women, one of our oldest signature events. This was something I was extremely passionate about, and it was amazing to see Emily Sisson win and break the course record. It even made the cover of New England Runner magazine!

If you could work at any major event in the world, which one would you choose and why?
The Olympics. As a spectator at the Summer Olympics in 2024, I saw how it brings the world together like nothing else. It would be awesome to be a part of an event that holds so much history and tradition.

Tokyo.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Time travel.

Friends are visiting Boston for the first time. Where do you take them?
A run around the Charles, Red Sox game, Oak Bar at the Fairmont for dinner, and then L Street Tavern in South Boston for a drink.

What are some of your favorite destinations that you’ve visited?
Paris for the 2024 Olympics, Hawaii, or New Orleans where my family lives.

And finally, give us one of your hype up songs… please.
