December Recap 2025

By January 8, 2026Monthly Recap

We closed out 2025 in style and with energetic events across the city. Let’s look back at December 2025!

Boston Jolly Jaunt 5K

What’s the most jolly 5K this side of the North Pole? The Special Olympics Massachusetts Jolly Jaunt 5K!

On December 6, this holiday-themed race took runners through Boston’s Back Bay to raise funds for local Special Olympic athletes. Despite intense competition, the judges decided the winners of the best costume contest and handed out prizes to the lucky participants. We provided general event management on race morning, and managed all elements of the course and start/finish operations.

Keolis North Pole Express

On December 13, our team marched to South Station to welcome more than 2,000 local children and their families for the annual Keolis North Pole Express train ride! This festive “getaway” to the North Pole featured book readings by elected officials and local celebrities, holiday sing-alongs, and a surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. After months of planning, Conventures was on-site to ensure that everyone felt the holiday spirit (and enjoyed a free cup of hot chocolate).

First Night® Boston 2026

We bundled up and welcomed thousands of guests to the 50th First Night® Boston on December 31! First Night Boston was the first event of its kind in 1976, and is now one of the biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations in New England. This year’s event returned to City Hall Plaza for the third consecutive year and added daytime programming to Copley Square and other areas around the city. For months, our team was hard at work organizing this year’s event, and we can’t wait to do it all again for 2027.

Chiofaro Winter Tenant Event

We partnered with The Chiofaro Company on December 10 to bring holiday cheer (and plenty of treats!) at International Place, one of Boston’s largest office complexes. Tenants enjoyed a complimentary catered lunch, live entertainment, delicious sweets, and a visit from Pat the Patriot.

It’s always a pleasure activating one of the most iconic buildings in our city, and we can’t wait to come back!

2025 Norman B. Leventhal Excellence in City Building Awards

We hopped over to Boston Harbor Hotel on December 8 to honor local leaders and innovators at the 2025 Norman B. Leventhal Excellence in City Building Awards. Hosted by A Better City, the annual event recognizes civic leaders that continue to build a better Boston for all residents. Conventures was heavily involved in the planning of the event, and provided general event support throughout the evening.
