August Recap 2025

By September 4, 2025December 18th, 2025Monthly Recap

As we wave goodbye to summer, we’re reflecting on the events that Conventures produced throughout August. From bringing tall ships to Detroit to showcasing Boston’s best to legislators from around the country, our team was (happily) busy.

Let’s dive into the events that made August 2025 one to remember!

Sail Detroit

Sails up in the Motor City!

From August 7–10, our team worked with the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority for Sail Detroit 2025, which marked the return of tall ships to the Motor City. Thousands of visitors flooded the Detroit Riverwalk to enjoy deck tours, live entertainment, and sailaways on the Detroit River. Our team managed logistics on-site in order for the visiting ship crews and attendees to have a fun time on both land and the river. Our love for tall ships runs deep, and we’re already looking forward to bringing them to Boston Harbor next summer!

NCSL

Honoring 50 years of policy shaping

There are two things we love: (1) Boston and (2) showcasing what Boston has to offer as a destination. That’s why we had a blast managing the 50th annual NCSL Legislative Summit, the nation’s largest gathering of legislators and legislative staff, from August 4 to August 6. Our team was spread throughout Boston to handle logistics for thousands of attendees at networking events, social outings, keynote speaches, and more. From block parties on Canal Street to a performance by the Boston Pops, we pulled out all the stops to demonstrate the true Boston experience for important legislators, staff, and their families.

MLA Outlook

Celebrating the lodging industry in Massachusetts

On August 13, Conventures oversaw the guest registration process at the 31st Annual Outlook, a forecasting event where lodging properties learn about projections for room rates, occupancy rates, and demand. Hosted by the Massachusetts Lodging Association, guests gained valuable industry insights while hearing from speakers such as Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll. It was great to once again collaborate with our friends at MLA, and to support our state’s hospitality industry.

Boston 10K For Women Run Club

Breaking in our running shoes

This August, we kicked off our 2025 Run Club in preparation for the 49th running of the Boston 10K for Women! Led by our race ambassadors, this weekly group run offers a safe, inclusive space to train while building community with other runners. Run Club will continue to be held weekly at MYSTRYDE in Charlestown until race day. Want to join in the fun? Register for our next Run Club here.

Conventures Summer Outing

We brought the competition (and best costumes) to The Tall Ship

On August 14, our team headed over to East Boston for our company summer outing at The Tall Ship on Pier One! We split into teams to compete in a costume contest and cornhole tournament for a year’s worth of bragging rights. After some friendly competition, our team enjoyed delicious pizza and drinks, good conversation, and a beautiful sunset over the harbor. It was an amazing way to celebrate the end of the summer event season, and to bid farewell to some of our hardworking interns.
