When did you start working here? And B.C. (Before Conventures) — work, school?
I joined Conventures in September 2024. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Management from Emerson College, located in the heart of downtown Boston.
B.C. In the summer of 2023, I interned at Minute Media, a sports marketing firm based in Tel Aviv, where I gained hands-on experience in marketing to international audiences and lots of sunny days on the beach. Just before joining Conventures, I worked in youth programming as the unit lead for the oldest campers at my summer camp back in Washington State. Watching the kids light up as they made unforgettable memories through the activities we planned reminded me exactly why I love creating meaningful experiences, and it helped me realize I wanted to pursue a career in event planning.
Most important skill you’ve learned working at Conventures?
Asking for help when I need it! I’ve always been super independent and found it hard to ask for support, and being at Conventures has really changed that. The team here is so collaborative and supportive that I never feel like I’m dealing with something on my own. There are so many great people around me who build me up and teach me something new every day.
What’s your number-one, must-have item at all events?
Coffee.
If you could bring one event to Boston, what would it be?
If I could bring one event to Boston, it would definitely be Hoopfest. Growing up in my hometown of Spokane, Hoopfest was a highlight of every June. It’s one of the largest 3-on-3 street basketball tournaments in the country and an unforgettable part of my childhood. I have vivid memories of running from court to court, cheering on friends and family, and playing in the loser’s bracket with my own team, “The GirlScout Dropouts.” With Boston’s deep-rooted love for sports and its vibrant community spirit, I can’t think of a better city for an event like this. Hoopfest would feel right at home here.
Summer is almost over (sad face) but we still have a few weeks of sunshine left. What’s your favorite summertime tradition to do before the season is over?
Every summer, I set a goal to try something new and adventurous. This summer, I’m going skydiving on my birthday!
What TV show, movie, or book are you currently obsessed with?
Right now, I am absolutely obsessed with the A Court of Thorns and Roses book series. My friends put me on, and now I’m hooked!
Imagine—you have a time machine. What event/era in history would you travel back in time to?
I would have loved to experience the ’70s music scene. Seeing Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind, and Fire, or the Bee Gees live in concert would be unreal.
Do you think 20 duplicates of yourself could take down a gorilla?
Definitely.
And finally, give us one of your pre-event hype up songs.
Anything in Bad Bunny’s discography. “EoO” and “Baile Inolvidable” from his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS were playing on repeat this event season.
