With a choice of a 5K or a 10K course, each
includes beautiful views of the Blue Hills Reservation. The event will include product sampling, a warm up & cool down, a pull up challenge and more.The distinctive spirit of hundreds of military and law enforcement officers is pervasive throughout the day. Groups will be running in formation, local honor guards will be on site, as well as drill instructors to help warm your muscles up.
The 10K option of this race has been
called one of the toughest 10K events in New England, and the 5K is perfect
for those who prefer a shorter distance but an equally challenging and
rewarding course. Race participants will include active duty officers
and veterans from all branches of the U.S. Military, local law enforcement
groups, general running enthusiasts, and families from all over New England.
The event is held in cooperation with the Semper Fi Society and the Marine
Corps Law Enforcement Foundation. Formed in 1995 by former Marines and
law enforcement personnel, the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation
has awarded over 40 million dollars in scholarships and bonds to children
of Marine Corps and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
The Honor Run aims to raise awareness for this great work and to recognize
the sacrifices of our nation’s men and women in uniform.
Race Day Schedule – Sunday, September 27, 2009:
Race Day activities included:
- 7:30 – 9:15 a.m.: Number Pick-Up & On-Site Registration
- 9:15 a.m.: Pre-race warm-up
- 10 a.m.: 10K Start
- 10:15 a.m.: 5K Start
- Post-Race: A cool-down and awards ceremony will be held immediately following the race.
Teams - 10K Team Challenge
Can you survive the Blue Hill blues? Improve your chances by running in a team. Teams consist of 3 to 5 members with the score determined by the top 3 finishers.
JROTC 5K Cup
JROTC members can form 5-man or 10-man teams to compete for the coveted JROTC 5K Cup.
