In 1977, Conventures President Dusty Rhodes created the Columbus Day Road Race for Women. She pitched the idea to the famed cosmetic mogul Jess Belle of the Bonnie Bell Company....and the Bonnie Bell 10K for Women was born. Now in its 34th year with Tufts Health Plan as its title sponsor, the resulting "Tufts 10K" has become a Columbus Day tradition in Boston and attracts a field of over 7,000 runners, joggers and walkers competing through the streets of Boston's Back Bay and Cambridge.
Response:Conventures handles every aspect of the pre-race and race day activities including marketing, permitting, volunteer coordination, media relations, logistics, sponsorships, recruitment and the coordination of a Women's Health Expo that occurs at the race site.
