Suffolk University retained Conventures to design an ambitious year-long centennial anniversary celebration with focus on each of its constituencies: administration, staff, faculty, students, alumni, neighbors, media, and the community at large. The Centennial Celebration was to set the stage for the University’s future and call attention to its esteemed past. Rather than viewing its centennial merely as an opportunity to fund raise, the University wanted to position its many activities as a gift to its constituencies and to the community.
Response:Conventures convened a planning group representative of the myriad constituencies and designed a plan to achieve the school’s objectives. Highlights of the Centennial Calendar included an Academic Procession and Centennial Convocation featuring former President George H.W. Bush, a Centennial Luncheon, a Student and Alumni Festival and a Birthday Party and Concert. In addition, the Conventures team helped Suffolk brand the centennial in every way possible – from embellishing the postage indicia to adding creative street signage to its buildings.
